Wildmon Radio (aka American Family Radio) via KANX 91.1 is running a call-in show (The AFA Report) with the usual teabagger/religious right crowd calling in. Several homeskooling mothers were calling in (mainly from the Southern states) boasting of "removing their TV's, and the Internet" from their homes.
Okay, I've wanted to dump the Idiot Box out at times, but these folks are just nutty. Homeskooling isn't really about improving education, its about indoctrination, isolation, and discouraging "race mixing". The show's hosts have now gone out on a quasi-Fatwa against the ARRP because ARRP supports heath care reform.
1:02pm (1802 UT). AFA's "news" has a headline about the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) just introduced in the US Senate. Usual fear-mongering about "abolishing" freedom of religion and violating "God's intended gender roles".
1:04pm (1804 UT). Ad for "Dovetail Enterprises"...certainly not a simple underwriting annoucement.
MINI-EDITORIAL: Religious broadcasters could really give a rip about the souls of men. Its about the money. Since AFA Radio would go broke speaking about religious doctrine and keeping out the one group of nutcases (the Tony Alamos, Brother Stair/The Overcomer Ministry, WWCOG, etc), its policy of embracing the more "mainstream" religious right politics makes monetary sense. No programs about proper means of Salvation, Baptism, Doctrine. But bashing the "Queers", "Secularists", public education, "Liberals"---Godly in their book.
