KKYK Gets "Tuff" And Throws THIS Overboard

Perhaps THIS didn't allow enough local infomericals for its affliates...

A propagation check this evening reveled a familiar face on ch 20 analog Class A KKYK-CA Little Rock---none other than Gary Lee Robbins. Robbins was hosting Unreliable Sources and the show had a "Tuff TV" bug in the lower right hand corner.

Another network affiliation change for KKYK-CA (ex , KKYK-LP, K22FA) .

Okay lets see over the years.....

The WB 1997-2001
PAX 2001-2005 (simulcast KYPX Camden and also changed from ch22 to 20)
RTN 2005-January2009
Ind. Jan. 2009-March 2009
THIS March 2009-2009
"Tuff TV" August 2009--???

The one thing you can be certain about on KKYK is that its going to run lots of infomericals. The THIS run was perhaps the the best programming on the station since the WB era (I know RTN has their fans, but much of the station's daytime programming was Paid Programming in that era). Instead of movies, its a block of infomericals on channel 20. Yawn.

All of that brings this up (no pun intended)--- Little Rock loses THIS coverage on cable and satillite but could perhaps some local station stick THIS on a subchannel? Possible candidates are KASN (which hosted the former "Variety Television"), and the Nexstar Twins (KARK/KARZ). KATV already has the retreaded RTN/RTV and KTHV has its bandwidth squeezed enough by THV2.

Nexstar doesn't do subchannels, so I wouldn't expect to see it on KARK or KARZ. Plus, KARZ has a decent bit of bandwidth already tied up.
